Welcome to my website!
My name is Brinda Braswell; I was born in Miami Florida and lived there until I was thirteen. My Grandmother whom I loved dearly raised me in Georgia. I lived in Georgia for over forty years. I was a bank branch manager for ten of the twenty three years that I worked in banking and finance. I have a master in Human Resource Management and a BS in Finance. I was also a foster parent for seven years. My main goal for living in Georgia was to take care of my grandmother. My grandmother was later diagnosed with Alzheimer's. After agonizing over whether or not to place her in a nursing home, I wanted to find a way to save other family members from the stress and pain of placing their loved ones into a large facility where they are treated only as a number. I was so blessed to be able to afford to have a caring person come in to my home and take care of her. In 2001, GOD decided that the 90 years that she had served was long enough, and it was time for her to come with him to rest. After my lovely grandmother passed, the LORD moved me back to Florida, and placed in my heart to devote myself to making sure that I can give our aging loved ones a safe, fun and exciting place to live.
I personally chose all of my staff on the basic of care respect and the patience that they must demonstrate to me while caring for our aging love ones. My staff is special people. I believe that all of my staff has a loving heart and a passion to care for your loved ones.
Below is the definition of what an ALF is. I hope you continue to browse the site to learn more about the many services we provide!
WHAT IS ASSISTED LIVING?
Assisted living facilities are for people needing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) but wishing to live as independently as possible for as long as possible. Assisted living exists to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing homes. Many facilities also have centers for medical care; however, the care offered may not be as intensive or available to residents as the care offered at New Beginning ALF.
Residents at New Beginning ALF are not able to live by themselves but do not require constant care. New Beginning ALF offers help with ADLs such as eating, bathing, dressing, laundry, housekeeping, and assistance with medications. We can create a service plan for each individual resident upon admission. The service plan details the personalized services required by the resident and guaranteed by the facility. The plan is updated regularly to assure that the resident receives the appropriate care as his or her condition changes.
